Hello everybody, welcome to the Glampacker guide. Glampacker guide is an online travel magazine for all the glampackers and travel fanatics. On this site you will find everything about the best (Glampacker) travel destinations, the latest hotspots, lifestyle and travel gadgets.
Who are we?
I am Laura and I used to be an editor in Amsterdam. In 2013 I started blogging under the name of Glampacker. It was a successful website on which I mainly wrote about my own travel experiences. After two years, Instagram began to grow exponentially.
Let the real traveling begin
At the end of 2016 I decided together with my Australian/Dutch boyfriend to sell all our stuff and leave with our savings to Australia with a stop for a month in Indonesia. In the beginning of January 2017, the journey began. Without a specific goal we left to his homeland.
The Glampacker Guide
Toby is a website designer, which is a perfect combination with a blogger. At the end of 2016 Glampacker Guide was born, an extensive website with information about traveling.

What is a Glampacker?
A Glampacker is a diehard traveller and is not afraid to get her hands dirty, but on the other side loves a little luxury during her travels. Backpacking and hiking through the jungle? No problem. But for a change a nice hotel with a pool and a jacuzzi is a must have. What are the characteristics of a Glampacker?
You love a touch of glamour when you are traveling
In urban areas you will find yourself at hotspots of your destination and there is always an opportunity for a cocktail on a rooftop terrace.
Your toiletry bag is well stocked
Mascara is a must, but there is more to find in your toiletry bag. From conditioner to perfume, you have it with you. All in mini size of course.
You have a hair dryer or a hair straightener with you
As long as your hair is looking good.
You do not skip a manicure or pedicure while traveling
A hole in the ground is not a toilet
You just don’t know what to do with this.
You always have disinfectant gel with you
If you have no other choice then taking the hole in the ground as a toilet, you obviously need to disinfect your hands.
Your clothes are clean
Hygiene is essential. Once every two weeks, the entire content of your backpack will go to a laundromat.
You bring at least 4 pairs of shoes
Including black flats/sandals for when you go out.
You have a little black dress in your backpack
You may find yourself in a two-star restaurant while backpacking, you never know!
You take jewellery to spice up your outfit
Walking with same outfit for weeks is boring. Luckily, you can easily pimp this with your accessories, necklaces, earrings and scarves.
In the tropics you rub all day with DEET
So that the nasty mosquitoes won’t be able to bite you.
